In “Let’s talk…” we explain the differences between the materials, products and product categories you can find in our store versus in “mainstream” stores. Because which options are more sustainable? And what makes these options the fair choice? In this post: Let’s talk wool!
WOOL IN FAST FASHION
MULESING
Mulesing is a procedure where part of the skin of the sheep’s butt is cut off, to prevent attracting flies. This is a very painful and unnecessary procedure for the sheep, which is why we choose mulesing-free wool.

WOOL IN FAIR FASHION
ORGANIC WOOL
Organic wool is an ethical and sustainable alternative to traditional wool production. It has benefits for the environment, animal welfare and human health and wellbeing.
ALPACA WOOL
Alpacas leave basically no footprint on our world. The fibre makes products that are strong, durable and barely need to be washed. It is also biodegradable and doesn’t require chemical treatment during production.
RECYCLED WOOL
One of the best aspects of wool is that it is recyclable. Recycled wool respects animal welfare, reduces the dependence on virgin, animal-derived wool and helps combat global textile waste.

WOOL IN HET FAIRE OOSTEN
It probably won’t come as a surprise to you that most of the wool items that we have in our collection are fashion items. From socks to scarves and from sweaters to coats, you can find a wide range in our store and webshop. But besides that, you can also find wool in our interior collection. We have a wide range of woollen plaids and some pillows to keep you warm or decorate your house with!
